BBFW is preparing “a new beginning” after a particularly difficult period for the bridal industry by organising a gala that will take place on 14 October in Montjuïc. The event will include the presentation of the most outstanding designs of some 20 national and international brands and will be complemented by art and music performances.
Estermaria Laruccia, director of BBFW, states that ”After so much uncertainty, we are once again putting the spotlight on the bridal industry to promote the dissemination of all the talent and work carried out over the last few months. It is very exciting for us to meet again and to be able to experience this moment in Barcelona, thanks to the efforts of the companies and the collaboration of the Departament d’Empresa i Treball to promote together a key sector and instil new enthusiasm for the future”.
It should be noted that the gala will also have a solidarity function in support of the NGO Save the Children and the “Stop child marriage” project against child marriage. This initiative reflects the show’s commitment to concrete actions related to corporate responsibility, with a particular focus on sustainability and the safeguarding of diversity, integration and inclusion.
Upcoming events and activities
Over the coming months, meetings will also be scheduled with professionals from the bridal fashion sector with the aim of giving visibility to talent and reflecting on the future challenges of the brands. Another of the scheduled activities will be the transmission of the ELLE International Bridal Awards, the most internationally-renowned in the sector. BBFW usually collaborates with these awards which recognise designers’ creative potential, as well as excellence in the different spheres of the bridal industry.
The events will be held in person, applying the prevention and safety rules set out in the Fira de Barcelona protocol in collaboration with the Hospital Clínic, and they will be announced online to give all professionals and the general public the chance to find out about the latest trends through BBFW’s digital channels and the website www.barcelonbridalweek.com
